I am an associate professor of linguistics. I currently work as a researcher and associate head of department at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden). I was previously affiliated to the universities of Stockholm, Ghent and Antwerp.
My research interests are language variation and change studied from a functional perspective. I have mainly worked on emerging verb constructions, word order variation and phonological variation in Dutch.
My current project research is titled "The emergence of periphrastic verb constructions in Dutch. A construction grammar approach to language change". It aims to integrate insights from grammaticalization research, construction grammar and quantitative corpus linguistics.
